Talkspace, a virtual behavioral health care provider, announced a partnership with Amazon Health Services to increase awareness and discoverability of its mental health care services, including sleep therapy, on Amazon.com.
Talkspace joins Amazon Health Services’ program to help individuals discover and enroll in their health insurance benefits at no extra cost or for a small copay. With more than 5,000 therapists and providers across 50 states, Talkspace aims to improve access to online therapy and psychiatry services for more than 150 million eligible members.
The average copay for a virtual therapy visit is $15, however, out-of-pocket may vary based on the member’s specific deductible, according to a release from TalkSpace.
Here’s how it works:
- Amazon user can visit the Amazon Health Conditions page.
- They’ll be able to verify their insurance coverage right on that page to see if Talkspace services are included.
- If eligible, Amazon will direct the user to a Talkspace co-branded Amazon page, where they can complete the registration process and start their therapy journey.
- The user will get paired with a licensed therapist in their state and can schedule live online sessions (audio, video, or live chat) or message asynchronously with their therapist.
For sleep therapy, Talkspace offers cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia techniques, which include sleep restriction, stimulus control, and relaxation training. “Talkspace makes online cognitive behavioral therapy easy and convenient, with access to experienced therapists who understand how to treat sleep disorders. You’ll get the dedicated care you seek to overcome any sleep issue at Talkspace,” reads a blog post from Talkspace.
“Amazon aims to simplify the journey to better health by making it easier for customers to discover and access the products, services, and professionals they need,” says Aaron Martin, vice president of healthcare at Amazon, in a release. “Our collaboration with Talkspace will not only help customers discover their mental health benefits but also, if they choose, gain access to their own dedicated, licensed therapist in a fraction of the time it might take to see someone in-person.”
