Summary: AppYea has launched the AppySleep wristband, a wearable device designed to monitor snoring and help reduce it by encouraging side-sleeping through biofeedback. The wristband pairs with an app that uses AI to detect irregular breathing patterns and customize snoring treatments. Customers can purchase the wristband for an introductory price and gain access to personalized sleep data through a cloud-based service. The company is also developing AppySleep LAB, a touchless app for diagnosing sleep apnea, with plans for FDA submission in 2025.
Key Takeaways:
- AI-Powered Snoring Reduction: The AppySleep wristband uses artificial intelligence to detect snoring and irregular breathing, then activates vibrations to encourage side-sleeping and reduce snoring.
- Customizable and Data-Driven: Users can personalize the vibration settings through the app and track their sleep history and improvements in snoring via a cloud-based service provided with the wristband.
- Future Plans for Sleep Apnea Diagnosis: AppYea is developing AppySleep LAB, a touchless app aimed at diagnosing sleep apnea without the need for an overnight lab stay, with plans to seek FDA approval in 2025.
AppYea Inc, developer of a wearable solution to monitor sleep apnea and snoring, announced the launch of the new AppySleep wristband.
AppySleep leverages artificial intelligence for the customization of snoring treatment and can also detect irregular breathing patterns.
At this stage of the launch, the app can be downloaded for free. However, using the app requires purchasing the accompanying wristband, available at the company’s store or on Amazon for an introductory price of $149.
The app listens for breathing patterns and, when continuous snoring is detected, activates a vibration in the wristband that encourages users to shift to a side-sleeping position. “After several weeks of use, the vibration helps condition users to sleep in the correct position, significantly reducing snoring,” says Bary Molchadsky, chairman of AppYea, in a release. The vibration settings can be customized through the app.
Customers who purchase AppySleep during the launch will receive free access to a personal cloud where they can view their sleep history, statistics, personalized graphs, and track improvements in their snoring and overall sleep quality.
In the coming months, the company plans to expand marketing efforts in the United States and Canada.
Plans for Sleep Apnea Diagnosis
In addition, AppYea is making progress with the development of AppySleep LAB—a touchless app designed for diagnosing sleep apnea without the need for an overnight stay in sleep labs.
The company estimates that it will pre-submit a request to the US Food and Drug Administration of AppySleep LAB during the first half of 2025.
