The Pricing, Data Analysis, and Coding (PDAC) contractor has approved a Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code for billing the four Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors for the GoodSleepCo hushd Pro Avera oral appliance.
To bill Medicare for the GoodSleepCo appliance, use HCPCS code K1027 (oral device/appliance used to reduce upper airway collapsibility, without fixed mechanical hinge, custom fabricated, includes fitting and adjustment).

GoodSleepCo’s hushd Pro Avera received FDA 510(k) clearance earlier this year for the treatment of snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea. Hushd Pro Avera is designed using 3D printing technology and medical-grade nylon, coupled with automation and artificial intelligence-enabled processes.
