Earlier this year, I submitted a design for a quilt to be featured in the magazine for the All Missouri Shop Hop. It’s a competitive process – Shop Hop Inc. chooses a handful of quilts to be featured out of all the submissions they receive for each event.
My design was selected! I’m one of 7 lucky designers to be featured in the magazine. I’ve had to keep it under wraps until the event started. The shop hop runs from September 1 – October 31, 2024.
We were provided with a group of themed fabrics and our task was to create a design that showcased the state of Missouri – using only the fabrics provided.
The name of my quilt is Beautiful Missouri. The panel that was included with the group of fabrics for this event – featured scenes from across Missouri. Some of them felt very spring like and the others were much more representative of the outdoors in the fall.
I had a hard time deciding which way to go with my design. I realized that I was provided the entire panel to work with – so why not make the same project – two ways? Wouldn’t either of these versions look pretty hanging on the wall over a couch?
Both versions of Beautiful Missouri were quilted by my friend Kim of Stitched in Purple. The quilting is beautiful!
It’s currently hanging at Sew Much More in Poplar Bluff Missouri. When the All Missouri Shop Hop is over – it’ll make its way back to me.
Stay tuned – I’ve been selected as a featured designer for several Shop Hop Inc. events for 2025! All that needs to stay under wraps for now but I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on.
