Bedroom is a place where everyone wants to spend restful and relaxing time. Some people want their rooms to be a welcoming place of retreat but is doesn’t end up that way. Energy and love is what a bedroom consists of. Have you been seeing the same décor since years? Are you tired of that boring look? Have you had the same typical style done years ago and want to give an exceptional look now? Today I am going to jot down some marvelous ways to remodel or redecorate your bedroom and creating a sanctuary where you would love to come over and over.
Decorating a bedroom do takes time but it creates a unique look as well. Using colors, textures, images and paintings etc. hold great importance in re-doing a room. If you face troubles while sleeping, it may be because your room is not organized properly. So make sure the bedroom is decorated and organized nicely to create a restful and peaceful environment. Let’s read some great ways to make your room feel lively and energetic without bothering yourself much for money. Here they are:
Remove Television
The very first thing to distract you falling asleep is television. It is like a curse to your lives that neither makes you fall asleep nor does it take you close to your partner. You feel difficult to de-stress due to the television. Bedroom is a place to which television doesn’t belong so keep it away. Some people have a habit of falling asleep while watching television at night but guys, it causes harm and do nothing good to you. It’s good that you fall asleep but the results are not good. So I would suggest you not to keep any space in the bedroom for a television while you are revamping or designing your bedroom.
Calm Colors for the Walls
Don’t go for too bold and dark colors for the bedroom walls. Choose light pastel colors like beige, tan, baby pink or light yellow to create a peaceful and warm environment. Plus, these colors are soothing which hit your brain nerve in a good way thus making you feel light in stress. Never choose dark colors because they are distracting and do everything to dampen your good mood. Colors like black, dark green or reds negatively affect you.
So choose warm and lively colors to exhibit a relaxing effect in the whole room. Next, you need to match the whole room décor with the wall colors of course otherwise it will ruin the whole décor. Try to match everything with the wall colors including rugs, carpets, bed sheets, comforters and quilts to add a lavish feel to the bedroom. Be original and choose elegant patterns without making them look too obvious. If you like any symbol, do that pattern or texture on the wall thus keeping it harmonious in every way. Make sure not to end up having a shabby look depending upon the textures or patterns too much.
Go for a Comfortable Bed
The bed should match with the existing décor and style of the bedroom. Plus, it must be so comfortable that makes you fall asleep as soon as you hit the bed. If your bed will not be comfortable, then you also will not feel comfortable the whole night.
Add a Water Feature
It just looks amazing. Including a small fountain in your bedroom keeps you fresh and relaxed at night. But make sure you don’t have kids or else it will be a whole mess. Water feature is a good thing to let you relax and feel calm after the stressful day. A soft water trickling sound is great to make you sleep immediately. The sound is so soothing that calm your brain nerves and you go to sleep quicker than ever. Plus, it can also be a romantic feature to add in the room as you can spend some quality time with your partner sitting near the fountain and enjoying intimate moments.
Proper Window Treatments
A bedroom should be such that blocks the early morning sunlight to come in because it will wake you up at 5 am when sun starts rising. So go for stylish window treatments to add some sense of character as well as functionality to the room décor. If not window treatments, choose heavy curtains in dark color to block the outside light. Other than curtains, blinds or shades can also be used to enhance the appearance. But make sure that whatever you choose must be aesthetically appealing and practical too. If your room faces a beach or great outdoors, you must go for a window treatment that gives you a clear view of the outside scenery while maintaining your privacy.
Furniture
Furniture is the core of every bedroom because without it, the room looks vacant. Keep minimum furniture to ensure the room doesn’t look over crowded or messy. All you can keep is a cabinet, arm chair, a desk and that’s it!! On the desk, you can keep a lamp for light and it will also add to the whole look of the room. Next, the furniture should be in synchronization with the room. If your room is big, consider adding book shelf or a table to keep your photo collage, trophies or any other artwork.
Flooring
Last on my list is flooring of the bedroom. It should be warm and comfortable to lend luxurious feel to the person living there. A rich rug or carpet on the floor while you step down feels great and you will like putting your feet on it every morning if the carpet is soft and silky.
Conclusion
Think of the items that make you feel calm and keep them in the room while decorating. Don’t just try to stuff things for the sake of decoration but things you add must be liked by you. If you are not a lover of books then adding a bookshelf is not a good idea. So do whatever you like!!
